The Next Evolution of Opiate Addiction Support: Introducing Strategic Recovery™ with Matt Finch

If you’ve been around Opiate Addiction Support (OAS) for a while, you might’ve noticed something:

I haven’t posted a new article here in a couple of years.

That wasn’t because I stopped caring…

It’s because I’ve been working as Head Coach of Fit Recovery and also quietly building the next evolution of this mission…

A new home for deeper healing, broader support, and long-term transformation.

That new home is called Strategic Recovery with Matt Finch — and today, I want to personally invite you into it.

Why Things Have Been Quiet on Opiate Addiction Support

OAS was born to help people break free from opioids when there were almost no real, practical resources online that talked about:

  • Supplements that actually help
  • Nervous system repair
  • Biochemical root causes
  • Real-life strategies beyond “just go to meetings”

Since 2014, millions of people have used the free guides and resources here to taper or cold-turkey detox, and rebuild their lives.

I still hear from people every week who found hope and real solutions through this site.

But as time went on, I kept seeing the same thing:

  • People weren’t just struggling with opioids.
  • They were also wrestling with alcohol, benzos, Kratom, stimulants, weed, porn, food, gaming, gambling, social media, and more.
  • And they didn’t just need help detoxing… they needed a full, strategic framework for rebuilding a life they actually want to live.

That’s why I hit pause on new OAS posts and poured my energy into building something bigger, deeper, and more holistic:

👉 Strategic Recovery™ (new website, podcast, and resource hub)

What Is Strategic Recovery™?

Strategic Recovery™ is the expanded universe of everything I started here on Opiate Addiction Support — upgraded.

It’s built for people who are:

  • Struggling with any type of addiction or dependency (substances or behaviors)
  • Wanting science + spirituality, not either/or
  • Tired of one-size-fits-all advice and ready for a personalized, strategic approach

On the new site, you’ll find a whole ecosystem of support that didn’t exist back when I launched OAS.

Here’s what’s waiting for you there.

The Strategic Recovery Podcast (Start with Episode 1)

The heart of the new platform is the Strategic Recovery with Matt Finch Podcast — a deep-dive, solo podcast where I walk you through an entire system of healing step by step.

Unlike quick-hit episodes or surface-level tips, these are long-form, in-depth explorations of:

  • The 4 Primary Root Causes of Addiction
  • The 5 Phases & 5 Pillars of Strategic Recovery™
  • Biochemical, emotional, social, environmental, and spiritual healing
  • The mindset shifts and spiritual insights that sustain long-term freedom

There are already over two dozen episodes, and we’re just getting started.

🔊 Your invitation:
When you’re ready, go to Strategic Recovery and start with Episode 1. Treat it like Chapter 1 of a new book about your freedom.

Listen while you walk, drive, or rest. Let it be the beginning of a new, more empowered chapter of your recovery.

Deep-Dive Blog Articles (Beyond the Basics)

If you liked the detailed guides on OAS, you’re going to love the long-form deep dive articles on Strategic Recovery.

These cover topics like:

  • The true roots of addiction (beyond just willpower or trauma)
  • Biochemical repair and nervous system healing
  • Emotional healing, trauma, shame, and loneliness
  • Recovery capital, archetypes, and personalized strategies
  • Spiritual growth and higher-purpose living after addiction

There are already over two dozen of these long-form pieces — each one written to be more like a mini–ebook than a quick post.

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish there was a place that explained all of this in one coherent system,” — that’s what these articles are designed to do.

Free Recovery Archetype Quiz™

One of the most popular free tools on Strategic Recovery™ is the Recovery Archetype Quiz.

It helps you discover your primary “recovery personality” — the patterns, strengths, and blind spots that shape how you heal.

Think of it as a lens for understanding why certain strategies work brilliantly for you… and why others don’t.

When you take the quiz, you’ll get:

  • Your primary archetype
  • Core strengths
  • Common traps
  • Tailored suggestions for what to focus on next

It’s fast, fun, and surprisingly accurate. Perfect if you’ve ever felt like: “I just don’t fit the typical recovery mold.”

Free Strategic Recovery Worksheets & Tools

I didn’t want Strategic Recovery to be just “inspiring content.”

I wanted it to be a toolkit you can actually use.

That’s why I created a growing library of free worksheets, including:

  • Strategic Recovery planning tools
  • Recovery capital builders
  • Biochemical & supplements worksheets
  • Reflection and self-inquiry prompts
  • Assessment-style tools to help you map where you are now

You can download these for free, print them, or fill them out on your device.

Use them to create a personalized roadmap — instead of trying to piece everything together alone in your head.

Free Supplements Guide for Addiction Recovery

If supplements have ever felt confusing, overwhelming, or expensive, you’re not alone.

On Strategic Recovery, you’ll find a free, comprehensive supplements guide that helps you:

  • Understand which nutrients support the brain during and after addiction
  • Learn the basics of neurotransmitters, stress, sleep, and mood
  • Prioritize what actually matters so you’re not buying random pills in desperation

If you liked the supplement content on OAS, this guide takes it to the next level — clearer, more structured, and aligned with the full Strategic Recovery framework.

Where to Start on Strategic Recovery

Once you land on the new site, here’s the path I recommend:

  1. Start Here Page
This gives you a guided overview of the whole system so you don’t feel lost or overwhelmed.
  2. Founder Story Page
If you want to know who you’re learning from and why I do this work, this is my upgraded, honest, behind-the-scenes story — from Ocean Beach to addiction, awakening, and purpose.
  3. Episode 1 of the Podcast
Hit play and let me walk you into the heart of Strategic Recovery. Think of it as us sitting down for a long, real, unfiltered conversation.
  4. Take the Recovery Archetype Quiz
Get a feel for your unique style of healing so you can tailor what you learn next.
  5. Browse the Articles & Free Worksheets
When you have time and energy, deep dive into the long-form posts and grab the worksheets that resonate with where you are right now.

“What if I Still Love Opiate Addiction Support?”

Beautiful. So do I. OAS isn’t going anywhere.

It’s still a treasure trove of:

  • Taper strategies
  • Detox tips
  • Opioid-specific support and inspiration

If you’re in acute opiate crisis, you might start here on OAS or with my Free Ultimate Opioid Detox Online Course.

But when you’re ready for:

  • A deeper, all-systems approach
  • Support that includes other addictions or behaviors
  • More long-term rebuilding of your whole life…

That’s your cue to step into Strategic Recovery™.

Think of OAS as the original lighthouse, and Strategic Recovery™ as the expanded healing temple built from everything we’ve learned together over the years.

I Want to Hear From You (Seriously)

Whether you’re on Opiate Addiction Support or Strategic Recovery™, I am still the same person on the other side of the screen — and I genuinely want to know:

  • What are you struggling with right now?
  • What content do you wish existed that you can’t find?
  • Which topics, substances, or situations do you want me to cover next?

You can email me through the contact page on either website:

  • The Contact page on Opiate Addiction Support
  • Or the Contact page on Strategic Recovery™

Send me your questions, your ideas, your feedback, your story.

I read these.

They shape what I create next.

Your Invitation

If you’re reading this, it means you’re still fighting. You’re still searching for answers, tools, and hope.

I built Strategic Recovery™ for you — the person who:

  • Has tried things that didn’t quite fit
  • Is tired of shame-based, one-size-fits-all recovery
  • Wants a smarter, kinder, more holistic path forward

So here’s your next step:

👉 Head over to Strategic Recovery™.
👉 Find the Start Here page.
👉 Press play on Episode 1 of the podcast.

Let that be the beginning of your next chapter — a chapter where you’re not just surviving addiction, but strategically, consciously, and courageously rebuilding your life.

With gratitude for you and this journey,

Matt Finch
