A little over six years ago, I was a diehard opiate addict that used opiates every day…
Only I wasn’t even getting high anymore.
Instead, my tolerance and dependence had gotten so large that even though I was using a lot of opiates every single day, it was only enough to prevent me from going into withdrawal.
After keeping up this “Life of Hell” for two years, one day I overdosed.
My mom found me lying down on my back, unconscious, with a blue/gray face, vomit coming out of my mouth, and looking like death.
She called an ambulance right away, the EMT’s reached the scene fast, and had an EMT not given me a naloxone shot when he did, within a minute or less I would’ve died, which would’ve left my one-year-old daughter Willow without a father.
After that, I had a new BURNING DESIRE
Inside of me to recover from opiate addiction and get extremely healthy in Body, Mind, Emotions, and Spirit.
I quit opiates and within six weeks was feeling amazing.
Next, I decided to make it my Life’s Purpose and Mission to help others recover from opiate addiction.
To start living this Purpose-Driving Life, I attended school and got training to start a new career as an addiction professional.
In October 2010, I graduated from the Mueller College Alcohol & Drug Counseling (ADC) Program, which specialized in the “holistic” treatment approach to addiction recovery.
I began working as a full-time Substance Abuse Counselor at an Opiate Treatment Program (OTP) in San Diego, California, immediately following my completion of school.
In June 2011, I became a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Associate (CADCA) with the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP).
Within a year of becoming a counselor, I was saddened by the things I saw working in the field of “traditional rehab.”
After witnessing firsthand the low success rates (only 5%) of traditional drug treatment programs, I knew there had to be a better way to help people get off opioids and stay clean and happy long-term.
Thus, I set off on a mission of exploration to see if I could come up with an “Opiate Recovery Blueprint” that was holistic, simple, effective, and that had a high success rate.
In May 2014, I launched this company and Blog which I named Opiate Addiction Support (OAS).
Around the same time, I became a Certified Strategic Intervention (SI) Coach with Robbins-Madanes Training (developed by Tony Robbins and world-renowned therapist Chloe Madanes) and a Certified Level 2 Qigong Instructor and Certified Level 2 Food-Healing Instructor with Supreme Science Qigong.
After 14 months of researching, blogging, and coaching, I developed my own system of opiate recovery which I named “The Four Pillars Method,” which treats opiate addiction as a bio/psycho/social/spiritual disorder.
In 2017, I became a Professional Member of the Alliance For Addiction Solutions, which seeks to bring national awareness to the concept of “healing the addicted brain with supplements, nutrition, and other integrative therapies.”
Fast-forward to present day…
After 6+ years of studying the “Art of Opiate Recovery,” I’ve come up with an Opiate Recovery Blueprint that has really changed the world.
My website now gets 1,000,000 visitors a year, and after corresponding with my coaching clients and with literally thousands of these website visitors, I’m absolutely blown away and delighted to see so many people quitting opioid drugs with ease and achieving long-term health and fulfillment (drug-free) at elevated rates.
I warmly welcome you to my website, and I hope I either get to work with you in a coaching situation or that I get the privilege to hear from you via email to read about your Opiate Recovery Success Story.
Warmly,
Matt Finch
