Hi, my friend. You’ve clicked on this article because the title called to you. You’re dependent on opioids, and you’re suffering and wish you never got yourself into this intricate mess.

I’ve been there too.

Not in your exact situation, but in an alternate version of a common theme.

The theme of slavery to drugs.

Having to continue to take opioids every single day in the exact right amount or more…

To prevent the worst psychological and physical sickness a person might ever experience in their life.

It’s serious, and only someone that has experienced opioid withdrawal can relate.

Life is Suffering, Suffering is Life

One of the simplest, fastest, and most effective ways to reduce some of your existential pain is to acknowledge, accept, and embrace the philosophy that “Life is Suffering”.

There is no person who ever lived that didn’t endure quite a bit of suffering.

It’s inevitable.

And it always has been and always will be.

Heartache, sickness, loneliness, mental illness, poverty, war, the malevolence of humans, inequality, death of loved ones, unemployment, working at a job you hate, infidelity, physical injury, chronic stress…

The list goes on and on.

Suffering is inevitable, and the only factor that isn’t constant is the amount of suffering a person experiences in life.

Much of the suffering is our own fault.

It results from the decisions we make and the actions we take.

Much of the suffering is also out of our control.

Hurricanes, wildfires, and other natural disasters may destroy your home and community.

A spouse may suddenly get terminal cancer.

You could be healthy and happy one moment, then a drunk driver could crash into you and leave you quadriplegic for life.

The longer you live, the more suffering you’ll be faced with.

There’s no way out of it, so you might as well embrace it.

At least, this philosophy is one that I’ve adopted, and it has helped so much that I can’t imagine going back to my old style of thinking.

My Message of Hope to You

Being dependent on opioids and wishing you were not is a form of suffering.

And trying to quit over and over again and failing each time is suffering.

Even quitting successfully is suffering because you have to get through acute withdrawal and post-acute withdrawal before you feel good again.

But all of this is okay.

It’s just another validation that life is suffering, and suffering comes in many forms.

You’re suffering, and you’ll almost always be fighting at least one battle at a time, even if it’s just a minor one that is pretty insignificant.

Here’s the good news:

You’re going to succeed.

You’re going to end your opioid dependence and reclaim your birthright of freedom.

You’re going to win the war, one battle at a time.

You’re going to lose some battles, and you’re going to win some battles.

And eventually, the war will be over and you’ll no longer need to take opioids daily to feel normal.

After the war ends there will be a time of great peace.

Enjoy this as much as you can…

Because soon there will be another battle or even another war to fight.

But… you’ll be wiser, stronger, and more effective at winning again because of all your experience overcoming opioid dependence.

I wish you strength and wisdom on your journey, my friend.

Embrace the suffering with open arms and love, for life is suffering, and suffering is life.

-Matt
