7 benefits of cold showers for opiate recovery

In this video, I’m going to teach you about the Top 7 Benefits of Cold Showers For Opiate Recovery. I first learned about something called “cryotherapy” from attending a Tony Robbins live event that was 6 days long, called Date with Destiny.

Tony Robbins taught us it’s one of the main ways he stays healthy and ENERGIZED in life.

Cryotherapy is any treatment that involves the use of freezing or extremely cold temperatures.

After doing a lot of research on this subject, I’ve found out that there are literally dozens of mental and physical health benefits of this type of “cold therapy.”

There are cryotherapy facilities popping up all over the place where you can go to get full-body cryotherapy treatment by sitting in a cryotherapy booth for 3-5 minutes.

I realize this is not the most convenient way to get the benefits of cryotherapy aka cold therapy. Thus, in this video blog post, I’m going to teach you how turning the water in your shower to freezing cold for the last 30 seconds of your shower can provide you with many opiate recovery benefits.

Cold showers really help!

I’ve been doing this convenient method of cold temperature treatment for several years on and off. I admit it’s something I haven’t done consistently, but I go on my “kicks.”

Right now I’ve been ending my daily-morning shower with 30-45 seconds of freezing cold water for the past two weeks in a row…AND I FEEL GREAT!!!

Top 7 Benefits of Cold Showers For Opiate Recovery

In the video below, I’m going to list the Top 7 Benefits of Cold Showers For Opiate Recovery. I’ve done a lot of research into this subject, and I guarantee you this is a simple, fast, and convenient way to get some extraordinary mental and physical health benefits that will be very useful when you’re recovering from opioid dependence.

You’re going to be AMAZED at all the significant benefits you can get from turning the water to freezing cold for the last 30-45 seconds of your showers.

Along with taking cold showers to receive a superabundance of mental, emotional, and physical health benefits, you can also use many other methods of cold therapy.

Here are some common ways to receive cold therapy benefits:

  • Cold Ocean Water
  • Cold River Water
  • Cold Lake Water
  • Cold Waterfalls

By far, my favorite method of receiving these powerful cold therapy benefits is standing under a giant waterfall that has freezing cold water blasting my entire body.

I’ve been living in Oahu, Hawaii for almost a year, so I’ve already done this several times with many different waterfalls and there is truly nothing like it!

  • Increased Mental Alertness
  • Anti-Inflammatory
  • Antidepressant
  • Boosts Will Power/Self Discipline
  • Boosts Testosterone
  • Energy Boost
  • Improvement of Sleep

Some other benefits of cold showers and other forms of cold therapy are increased healing time for muscles after working out, pain relief, improved circulation, healthier skin, enhancement of the immune system, weight loss, and much more.

Tons of athletes, entrepreneurs, and health enthusiasts around the world are using cryotherapy for all of these amazing benefits.

This is still a pretty recent area of study in the health and wellness niche. So I’m sure more benefits will be revealed as time goes on and more studies are done.

I have had the inclination to turn the water cold at the end of a shower, but never considered these benefits. Matt, your site is truly a step above any other resource I’ve found for getting off opiates.
I have been fighting an IV heroin habit for many months, and Thursday afternoon was my last use. 56 hours later, I am confident I will make it. I got ahold of some Kratom, Loperamide HCL, Vitamin C, DLPA, Valerian Root, and Melatonin. I am going to be careful to quickly taper & discontinue the Kratom and Loperamide so I have as little to deal with after the initial withdrawal is over. I’m 27 and have struggled with finding real sobriety since I first got on dope at barely 22 years old. Here in Arizona, the scene is getting worse, and Fentanyl is in all the dope. I knew it was time to get clean.
I thought I had learned most of what there was to know about kicking, but wow, your site is the holy grail! Especially the tip about DLPA! I would never have found that otherwise. I was considering getting some Phenibut, but unless I feel the need to really mitigate some serious PAWS anxiety, I am confident I can ride this out until I can get back in the gym and back to my sober fellowship where my friends have been waiting for me to get my act together.
I just want to thank you, and if it’s all the same I’ll throw another comment up here when I am further out of the woods to help emphasize that your methods WORK!

Wow, Tyler!!! I really enjoyed reading your post. I’m so happy to hear that you’re off heroin/fentanyl and that you’ve procured a great list of opiate withdrawal remedies. Those are some of my favorites as you know! Glad that you’ve got a lot of valuable info from my website and kudos to you for taking the time to study up and create a plan then follow through on it. You rock! And of course I would absolutely love to read a progress update from you down the line. Those are so fulfilling for me to read! Take care. 🙂

If I was to take a cold shower everyday for the time that I’m in withdrawals, will it just relief my withdrawals at a minimum or will it cure all of the symptoms?

Great piece, Matt!!! I’ve been ending my daily morning showers w/ 2-3 minutes of cold water for years & it definitely energizes me more for the day. I have to be honest though…I started doing it years ago because I heard it makes one’s hair shinier. LOL

Thank you, Lise! And that’s funny! I do love how it makes my skin so much nicer but I have a shaved head so no benefits there haha. I LOVE the energy and mood boost more than anything. A freezing cold shower in the morning is the ultimate way to start the day. 🙂
