In this article, you’re going to learn how to make a “Vision Board” and how this simple and fun craft can totally change your life. Many years ago, I made my first Vision Board (aka “Dream Board”).
And within a year I realized that I had achieved over 90% of the goals I had on my Vision Board!
I’ve made new Vision Boards every year or two ever since, and I continue to be amazed when I see the goals I have on my Vision Boards come to fruition.
Of course, you also have to work on your goals.
Simply creating a Vision Board and not taking any action will typically not create the achievement of your goals.
In the sections below, you’re going to learn how to make a Vision Board, then how to use the Vision Board daily to help accelerate the process of achieving your goals.
So get ready, because this process is fun, creative, empowering, and most importantly, it serves as a powerful “Intention Tool” that activates a part of your brain and a law of the Universe to help you turn your Dreams into Reality!
What is a Vision Board?
A Vision Board is a creative method for designing your Dream Life. First, you purchase a poster board. Not too big, but not too small. I like the medium-sized ones personally.
However, it’s all up to you.
Follow your intuition when it comes time to pick out the perfect size poster board for your project.
Next, you either cut out scenes, words, and phrases from magazines, or you can find these elements online and print those out, then cut them out.
After you have a poster board and images, words, and phrases that resonate with you and your goals, you use a glue stick to place them on the poster board.
There is no wrong way to do this.
You simply arrange your content by using your creativity and intuition, and there’s really no wrong way to do this.

And here are some examples of goals you can add to your Vision Board:
- Health
- Wealth
- Positive Relationships
- Travel
- Adventure
- Emotional Well-Being
- A Relationship with your Soul Mate
- Contribution
- More Free Time
- Peace and Serenity
- Spiritual Fulfillment
How Can a Vision Board Help?
There are two especially important ways in which a Vision Board can help you achieve the goals you add to it. First, by arranging a visual representation of your most important goals, it activates a part of your brain which is called the reticular activating system (RAS).
The RAS acts like a heat-seeking missile.
Once it’s aware of your Targets, anything that comes into your life that could help you achieve your Targets, you become more consciously aware of.
By creating a Vision Board then spending a few minutes each day looking at it and imagining yourself achieving the goals on your Vision Board, your RAS continues to work for you.
Your RAS will become hypersensitive to literally anything that could potentially help you achieve your goals.
And in addition to harnessing the power of your RAS, Vision Boards also activate a powerful law of the Universe.
This law is called “The Law of Attraction.”
The Law of Attraction states that we attract into our lives what we consistently think about.
When you create a Vision Board, look at it daily, and imagine yourself achieving the goals displayed on it, this constant focus on these things ignites the Law of Attraction, and the Universe, God, or whatever you want to call it does everything it/he/she can to help you achieve your goals.
Vision Boards For Opiate Recovery
If you’re currently addicted to opioids and wanting to be free from dependence, I encourage you to create a Vision Board within the next 2-3 days.
Go to Target, Wal Mart, or another store with poster boards and glue sticks, and purchase those two key elements.
If you or people you know have an abundance of old magazines, you could use scissors to cut out words, phrases, and pictures from those magazines.
I used to do this, but then I found it much easier to print out pictures, words, and phrases from the internet using a color printer, as this method allowed me to find exactly what I was looking for.
Here are some tips to help you create and use an awesome Vision Board for opiate recovery:
- Add pictures, words, and phrases that relate to personal growth and transformation.
- Use these elements to portray freedom from addiction (eg a picture of someone breaking out of handcuffs).
- Use these elements to portray supreme mental and physical health.
- Use these elements to portray life balance, positive habits, and happiness.
- Hang your Vision Board up somewhere that is easy to see every day.
- Look at your Vision Board every morning upon waking, and every evening before bed.
- Spend 2-3 minutes looking at your Vision Board and closing your eyes to imagine and feel yourself achieving the goals that you’ve depicted on it.
- Do this until you’ve achieved all of — or most of — your goals on the Vision Board, then make a new one.
- Repeat!!!
