Hey, this is Matt, welcome to the training video on “how to get off Kratom without withdrawal.” This is going to be a very informative and helpful video for you if you’re currently on Kratom and would like to get off in the least amount of discomfort possible.
In this video on how to get off Kratom, we’re going to cover this overview: Kratom dependence, Kratom withdrawal symptoms, Kratom detox plans (Taper, cold-turkey, etc.), and we’re going to cover the best Kratom withdrawal remedy categories, so let’s get right into it.
Kratom Dependence
Let’s first talk about the physiology and psychology of dependence. You can be both physiologically dependent and/or psychologically dependent. Kratom is a partial opioid agonist. It is not an opiate. For something to be an opiate, it needs to be derived from the opium poppy plant.
Opiates are things like hydrocodone, oxycodone, heroin, and morphine, but an opioid is anything that binds to the same mu opioid receptors in the brain that opiates bind to.
So Kratom is a partial opioid agonist. A full agonist is something that completely fills the receptors. Kratom is a lot weaker than a full agonist but it does bind to the opioid receptors, therefore, you can get dependence from daily use.
Physiological dependence is when your blood opioid concentration gets to a point where your neurons in your brain only function normally in the presence of the drug, so depending on how much you take daily, that is going to be your dependence level.
That’s physiological dependence… it’s when your body is addicted to Kratom.
Now, psychological dependence is different. Psychological dependence is when you really, really need the certain substance, in this situation Kratom, and you really, really need it psychologically, you’ll do anything to get it.
A lot of people are physiologically dependent on it which means that they will have withdrawal symptoms if they get off, but, they could care less about the psychological aspect of it.
They really just want to get off it, and they don’t care to use it ever again, and some people are just psychologically dependent, and some people are both.
Kratom Withdrawal Symptoms
Let’s talk about Kratom withdrawal symptoms and another thing you might be watching this video for a few different reasons. Number one is you’ve used Kratom to come off more powerful full agonists opioids like hydrocodone, oxycodone, buprenorphine or methadone or a number of other powerful opioid drugs.
If you’ve used Kratom to get off those, then congratulations you are doing awesome, and now some people want to stay on Kratom forever as an opiate replacement medication, maybe for chronic pain, anxiety or some other reasons, but a lot of people would actually like to get off Kratom.
This video is for the people that want to get off, and you might have just started using Kratom, not to manage withdrawal symptoms from strong opioids, but just experimenting.
Maybe having a little fun and here you are, have never been addicted to powerful opioids, but you have a Kratom dependence, either physiological or psychological or both, and now you want to come off.
When it comes to Kratom withdrawal symptoms, they can be mild.
Some people can get off Kratom with virtually no withdrawal symptoms, others have moderate, mild or moderate symptoms, and some people even have severe symptoms.
And it depends on how much Kratom you’re taking, whether you’re taking extract or regular type, also depends on if you have underlying issues such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain, your age plays a role into it.
It comes down to your constitution and your mental health.
But anyway, Kratom withdrawal symptoms can vary in severity, and here are some of the most common symptoms: We’ve got anxiety, depression, insomnia, exhaustion, zero motivation, and anhedonia.
Anhedonia is basically “pleasure deafness.”
Since Kratom is opioid, it also as well as creating an abundance of endorphins when it binds those opioid receptors, Kratom also stimulates massive production of dopamine from this substance.
When you come off of it your dopamine levels are really low and anhedonia is from really low dopamine. It means you can’t experience pleasure, and we’ve got restless legs, some people get vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, some people have no appetite, hot and cold flashes, sweating gooseflesh, the inability to focus, there’s irritation, anger, you get really short with people and more.
So again, some people experience just anxiety or just irritation, or maybe they just get a little bit of restlessness, but other people experience many more symptoms or all these and again some people coming off Kratom experience not really any symptoms at all. Really, just it depends on a person’s biochemistry.
So now let’s talk about some Kratom detox plans.
Kratom Detox Plans
Number one is the taper method and that can involve a short-term taper, a moderate-term taper, and even a long taper. That means that you lower your dosage instead of just coming off all at once, a cold-turkey detox.
Tapering is systematically lowering your dosage over a period of time. A short taper can be something like three weeks maybe you’re on 28 grams of Kratom a day and you just decrease your dosage seven grams every seven days until you come off. Moderate taper could be something like two months.
So you got eight weeks and you’re coming off and you lower your dosage every single week until the very end. And then a long taper could be something like three to six months or even longer, and typically the longer you draw out a taper, the less symptoms you experience when you transition off Kratom.
And then I always recommend people use my “Key 3.”
These are supplements, exercise, nutrition.
So the best way to get off Kratom without withdrawal on a taper is to use specific supplements, to exercise, and to really really pay attention to eating healthfully.
Then we’ve got the Kratom cold-turkey detox method so what people do is they’ll just stop taking Kratom cold-turkey, and now use things like either prescription meds, over-the-counter meds, supplements for the acute withdrawal and home remedies and there’s even more than that.
So if you have the right prescription medications or a combination of all these remedies you can absolutely get off Kratom without withdrawal.
Now let’s talk about some of those Kratom withdrawal remedies that work.
Kratom Withdrawal Remedies
There’s just so many things you could- there’s really hundreds of things but specifically, there’s about 50 amazing things, and there’s a top ten too, so let’s talk about these Kratom withdrawal remedies.
A lot of people get significant reduction or 100% reduction of withdrawal symptoms from using gabapentinoids such as gabapentin and Lyrica and you never want to use any of these prescription medications long-term, you only want to use them for four to seven days to get past the worst part then you want to stop them because you don’t want to get a dependence on something more powerful than Kratom.
Blood pressure medications like clonidine and propranolol can work really well and other blood pressure meds. Benzodiazepines are extremely effective for most people, all these remedies since we do have different biochemistry we got 7 billion people in the world something like that.
And all these different billions and billions of different biochemical makeups, biochemical profiles, so what works for one person may not necessarily work for everyone or other people, but benzodiazepines have a really good track record when it comes to eliminating opiate withdrawal and other opioid withdrawal.
Since Kratom is an opioid, basically anything that works for any type of opiate withdrawal will also work for Kratom.
So then we got loperamide HCL, that is the main ingredient in Imodium AD an over-the-counter diarrhea medicine. Helps with the stomach cramping and diarrhea. Muscle relaxers can work really good for a lot of people, things like Soma and Flexeril.
Sleep meds, things like diphenhydramine, Benadryl, over-the-counter sleep meds, and also prescription sleep meds people use. And then there’s a whole bunch of different supplements that can help to restore healthy neurotransmitter production. They can be natural sedatives that can help you sleep, that can help get your energy back, can help balance your hormones, so supplements can be really, really effective Kratom withdrawal remedies.

At this point, to get more in depth, I didn’t want to do a super long video. When I do really long videos people typically don’t watch it.

Kratom – Love it. Hate it. Love it: Helped me drop a serious oxy addiction, however, I really only swapped the Oxy addiction for Kratom addiction. Messy and rough on your body. Makes your eyes red and your skin lifeless. You live within the peaks and valley’s like oxy. Less stigma, but you are kidding yourself if you simp0ly switched one addiction for another.
Kratom slowly diminished its strength for me over time and it got to the point where I would put a cop of high-end kratom into tea and felt nothing. I was left with a big sludgy mess every day.
Taper, taper, taper. Do not kill yourself with cold-turkey when tapering this drug is not very difficult. If you are doing 30 grams a day, then drop 2 grams a week for the 1st few weeks. If it hurts, tweak it up. If you are fine, tweak it down.
The tough part is when you get down to 2-5 grams a day. I have been dosing Kratom for a decade, so maybe it is psychological – Most people can jump between 2-5 grams and have only a minimal level of PAWS.
I ended up getting 4 Subutex when I jumped last Friday. I cut the 4 subutext into 8 and did 3 halves on the first day. Did 2 on Saturday – no discomfort; did 2 on Sunday – no discomfort. I have done only one half today and want to see if I can make it the day. I only have 2 halves left, so I will hang on this week and hopefully ride this out without any withdrawal symptoms.
I definitely planned this out a good month in advance and I would suggest the same. If you are doing a “Taper”, it is a BIG commitment to schedule, accountability, and discipline. ITs doable and I feel a whole lot better as I think Kratom was making me net-net sicker and even depressed. I feel so much better now.

I just thought you should know that you are truly an angel in this world by providing this information for normal people to get off pain medications. I am not a criminal or an addict just a normal person experiencing this truly unpleasant time in my life! I had back surgery in May and am working now with Kratom to be able to get off oxycodone and hydrocodone and get back to a normal life!
