This is an over-the-counter diarrhea medication that many people have used to successfully reduce opioid withdrawal symptoms. It is most commonly found in the product known as Imodium AD. Loperamide acts as an opioid agonist on the myenteric plexus of the large intestine.
For this reason, loperamide can prevent diarrhea, stomach cramping, and pain caused by opioid withdrawal. Furthermore, in higher dosages than recommended many people have been able to reduce many of the other opioid withdrawal symptoms as well.
