CHRONIC PAIN SYNDROMES

I healed from three years of chronic pain using nothing but my mind, after trying many other treatment approaches (which were all unsuccessful). I learned this unique method from a medical pioneer named Dr. John Sarno.

If you have pain that has lasted more than six months, and you’re still looking for a solution to help you cure the pain, I encourage you to learn more about Dr. John Sarno and his unique method of healing chronic pain with your mind.

I will add more to this page of the website in the future, but here is a great start. Go ahead and check out the following books (I’ve read all of them), videos, other products, and websites, to see if any of this stuff resonates with you. This method might not be for you, but it could be the answer you’ve been waiting for.

For starters, I highly recommend reading the article below for a brief overview of this unorthodox treatment for chronic pain.

Many people dismiss it as quackery (and you might too), but it worked for me and thousands of other people, so it’s worth looking into. I wish you the best on your journey healing from chronic pain.

Back Pain and Tension-Myositis Syndrome – This article is by far the most comprehensive I’ve found on the subject. The author does an amazing job summing up the key points of Dr. Sarno’s methodology. I recommend reading this article first, then, if you believe this approach might work for you, start going through the books listed below.

If you are not interested in trying this method, I encourage you to check my articles on Natural Pain Relief – which cover foods, supplements, natural drugs, and other remedies for treating pain. —>Click here to view the Natural Pain Relief section of this website>>

Books

The Great Pain Deception: Faulty Medical Advice Is Making Us Worse – The absolute BEST book I’ve read on healing chronic pain. I’ve read several, and this one is by far my favorite. It took me a few months to read because it’s so long, but it was well worth it. If you have chronic pain and haven’t had good success with other types of treatment, this book might just change your life.

Back Pain Permanent Healing: Understanding the Myths, Lies, and Confusion – This is the newest book released in 2016 by Steve Ozanich (author of The Great Pain Deception). It’s the #1 International Best Seller in Pain Management and Health, Fitness & Dieting categories. Steve Ozanich is, in my opinion…the “Michael Jordan of Chronic Pain Recovery.” Do yourself a favor and read (plus study) everything this guy ever publishes.

Think Away Your Pain – Another really good book on healing from chronic pain. The author, Dr. David Schechter, is the specialist I saw in Los Angeles that helped me cure my chronic pain using my brain. I highly recommend this book. And if you’re on the West coast and believe this healing modality could work for you, I encourage you to set up an appointment with Dr. Schechter. He studied directly under Dr. Sarno decades ago, and he’s extremely warm and caring with his patients.

Healing Back Pain: The Mind-Body Connection – By Dr. John Sarno, this is the first book I read on healing chronic pain using nothing but your mind. My doctor, who I mentioned above, studied from Dr. Sarno. Dr. Sarno is the pioneer that developed this unique type of treatment for chronic pain, and many others have followed his lead.

The Mindbody Prescription: Healing the Body, Healing the Pain – Written shortly after Healing Back Pain, Dr. Sarno reveals how many painful conditions-including most neck and back pain, migraine, repetitive stress injuries, whiplash, and tendonitises-are rooted in repressed emotions…and shows how they can be successfully treated without drugs, physical measures, or surgery.

The Divided Mind: The Epidemic of Mindbody Disorders – Dr. Sarno’s most recent book. The Divided Mind is the crowning achievement of Dr. John E. Sarno’s distinguished career as a groundbreaking medical pioneer, going beyond pain to address the entire spectrum of psychosomatic (mindbody) disorders.

Use Your Mind to Heal Your Body: How I used Dr. Sarno’s medically proven treatment plan to eliminate my back pain forever – I very well-written and short book by Stephen Conenna. This book was the last one I read on Dr. Sarno’s method, and it helped me a lot.

Dr. John Sarno’s Top Ten Healing Discoveries – Steven Ozanich is the author of the first book on this list, The Great Pain Deception, which I love so much, but it’s SO LONG. Here is the summary from Amazon.com of his latest (and shorter!) book: “In this small book, TMS author and health researcher Steve Ozanich has captured the essence of Dr. Sarno’s vast body of work into an easily readable and understandable form. This book is a countdown-list in descending order of the most impactful of Dr. Sarno’s observations on health and society.

Miscellaneous Products

The MindBody Audio Program – This product is from Dr. Schechter. It’s a set of three educational CD’s that will teach you how to use the mind-body approach to heal from chronic pain. CD One is a recording of a one hour seminar entitled “The Mind: The Missing Link in the Back and Neck Pain Puzzle.” CD Two is entitled “TMS: Diagnosis and Treatment.” This CD will teach you about how a diagnosis of TMS is made and what a treatment program consists of. CD Three is entitled “The Psychology of Tension Myositis Syndrome”.

The MindBody Workbook: A Thirty Day Program of Insight and Awareness for People with Back Pain and Other Disorders – Another high-quality product by Dr. Schechter. This Workbook offers the reader a thirty-day structured journal to identify and heal from psychological issues that may be causing back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, tension headaches, RSI, TMJ, and other disorders. It has helped me tremendously.
